St Stephens (named not for religious reasons as you might expect, but in celebration of the marriage of its long standing residents the Hogans who were united on St Stephen's Day) is a beautifully preserved, honest and unpretentious historic village house. Designed for the Leigh family by Benjamin Bucknall, the architect responsible for the famously unfinished Woodchester Mansion, and it's stunning Lodge House, the property bears many of the trademark high-Victorian Gothic-style architectural features.
